Ward D by Freida McFadden
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
In order to gain experience, medical student Amy is required to work a shift in Ward D, the hospital’s mental health unit. Amy is convinced that something terrible will happen. As the night wears on, Amy’s fears aren’t just that – they are a warning. And it becomes clear something is wrong when patients start to vanish.
I nearly threw this book across the room because I did not expect that ending. No spoilers – just read it. This was one of the best modern examples of ‘unreliable narrator’ I’ve seen in a long time. Frieda got me again!
