Strange Sally Diamond by Liz Nugent

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

“For Sally Diamond, people are unpredictable and hard to read. She has always preferred routines to spontaneity and silence to noise. Adopted at age six, she cannot remember any details of her childhood before then…”

I’ve never related to a character more in my life than Sally Diamond.
I loved her. She was strange but honest. And her fight to just be herself and discover who that was for herself is a struggle I can relate to.
My favorite line: “Sally, you are a crisis.”
I laughed out loud. Me too, Sally. Me too.

This harrowing tale about a child born from an abductee situation in Ireland is just so-just go read it. It’s so good. I will definitely be reading more of Liz Nugent.
Thank you, Liz.
